Just for you, My Citroen won’t start. 2010 Honda Fit Sport, 5AT, Storm Silver. I loved my old Smart, but the maintenance and repair costs were getting out of hand. This car should be cheaper to maintain. The extra size and decreased fun factor will take some getting to, and this car is far from unique: I saw at least two or three other identical Fits yesterday alone. I’m losing all kinds of Jalop points. Gone is my rear-engined, RWD, 70-hp, German-designed, French-built shitbox with its unpowered steering and hand-crank windows. *sheds tear*

Can’t blame you there. The little smarts have always been teeny tiny cars with big Benz style repair bills.
Muahahahahaha I am now Oppo’s only smart owner!

You win. Outwit, outplay, outlast.

Awesome! Your choice is so, hnnnnnnnnng, responsible! The only thing that kept us out of a 2nd Gen Fit was the price tag on a decent one.

We can be friends now!
Lol maintenance should be cheap. Ours has 52,000 miles, we've put 15000 of those on and spent maybe 400 on maintenance and 320 of that was new tires.

As my transmission leaks, clutch actuator acts silly, and I need two wheel bearings lol.
How many miles/kms did the smarty have?

32,000 miles. Purchased ten months ago at 25,000.

Please be careful.
It’s a good car and it drives well, I just don’t like it.

If you want to be more unique you could always rebadge it as a Honda Jazz.

Aww, what was wrong with it? The Fit should treat you awesome, I’ve heard they’re solid like a rock.

Everything was peachy when I made the trade, but I spent about $1000 in May to diagnose and repair problems in the evaporative emissions system and ignition system.

I like the chrome garnish under the rear wiper. We didn’t get those in the U.S., just some black plastic trim (which I think looks weird being right next to the window glass). I did see one once with that style of taillights, though, which I’m somewhat fond of.

I’ve had my 09 Fit Sport 5AT, Blue Sensation Pearl since new, have 115k on it now. It has only needed basic maintenance and replacement of the usual wear bits (tyres, front brake pads). Will be looking for new tyres in Sept. Not decided yet if I want a new set of the current Conti DW’s or go back to the Yokohama S Drives...

The Asain Market Jazz has some really neat full LED tailights that I'd like to get for ours.

Because I used to work for a oilfield service company and we did business all around the world I was in 2 separate 2 month courses with another engineer from Australia. He didn’t have a car and was thinking about a Jazz, I told him if he got one I’d buy him a Fit badge and send it to him. It’s always cooler to have it badged as what it’s sold as in other markets.

I think there are three different evolutions of rear light cluster.

$1k?!?!?!?! Holy crap!!!! What was the diagnosis? Thankfully, I know the smart inside and out so I’ll likely never have to worry about diagnosis costs, but damn!

Well, they replaced the fuel cap, which took care of the emissions system, to the best of my knowledge. The ignition issue is hazier: They replaced the spark plugs and changed the oil in case any unburned fuel (there had been misfire codes for cylinders two and three) had gotten into the engine oil. The coil pack tested fine, and the CEL never came back on between the time of service and the time I sold the car. But for all I know, the engine might have needed valve work (or complete replacement) somewhere down the road. They also did the front brake pads and rotors and changed the brake fluid, as their inspection suggested it was time.

Oh my. Yeah, misfires are tough on the little things. Either they’re a simple issue, or they’re the beginning of burned valves. Easiest way would be to check compression. If compression is low in any of the cylinders, you might as well just dump the car, unless you have access to tools and cheap parts.

It’s strange how different the impression of Hondas seems to be in Europe, compared to America. In America they are smart choices, for fun young people, or at least that used to be the case, before they switched to making SUVs and sedans as large as a BMW 7 series.
How ever it seems inEurope Honda has long been viewed as a maker of burning cars for old people. I guess it makes sense with all the choices of fun small cars you have there. I'd bet the Honda Civic wouldn't be a celebrated here if we had so many other hatchbacks to compare it to.
